He should be in trouble. A police officer's duty is to protect civilians against violence, regardless of how he feels about them personally. Everyone is entitled to the protection of the law.

I would support him if he simply turned down the opportunity to pick up a detail for extra cash, but if he wants to be a cop he can't pick and choose which citizens are protected.

Agreed. Not the appropriate time to get butthurt about having to work around gays. Do your job.

I agree. I've seen Klan marches and lots of the cops protecting the Klan from the public were black. If they can do it, this drama queen can.
