I don't think I could watch it by myself. In a movie theater with all the shenanigans was the best place for me to fully appreciate The Room for what it is.

I've watched it multiple times, though with an associated drinkin game to make it more enjoyable.
Drink every time:
-- Someone mentions how attractive Lisa is
-- there is stock footage of San Francisco
-- anytime there is a rose/rose petals on screen
-- Whenever Denny is bring creepy
-- every "Oh hai"
