HP isn't typically the strong point of any diesel motor.

No doubt. I can think of 3 gas engines that are more powerful (tq) than the 3.0 and cost a fraction of the small diesel.

GM 6.2 (460tq)
Ford 6.2 (434tq), 3.5 (420tq, increase in 2015)

They all cost less and can tow more.

Not a good debut for a modern diesel in a 1/2 ton.

Shitty thing is you get that motor with a dodge wrapped around it. Dodge will never overcome their rep of cracked dashboards and blown transmissions no matter how good they are and how good the warranty is.

Eh, I don't buy that. They'll never beat out GM or Ford in yearly sales, but monthly sales and overall market share gain says they are getting past their old faults just fine.

They also all get nearly half the fuel mileage and the V8's make similar tq numbers but way higher in the RPM range.

For "not a great debut", it's been selling quite well so the demand is obviously there.
