It makes less HP and ties the TQ of the current Ecoboost.

HP isn't typically the strong point of any diesel motor.

OP: I haven't seen very many reviews on them yet. As mentioned, that motor has been around Europe for a little while now with overall good results. I'd go check some forums like Dodgetalk or Ramforumz, can probably find some reviews from owners there...all anyone will tell you here is that Dodge/Ram sucks and you should buy a Ford anyway.

It's a real good motor and Dodge deserves props for putting it out there.

Shitty thing is you get that motor with a dodge wrapped around it. Dodge will never overcome their rep of cracked dashboards and blown transmissions no matter how good they are and how good the warranty is.

No doubt. I can think of 3 gas engines that are more powerful (tq) than the 3.0 and cost a fraction of the small diesel.

GM 6.2 (460tq)
Ford 6.2 (434tq), 3.5 (420tq, increase in 2015)

They all cost less and can tow more.

Not a good debut for a modern diesel in a 1/2 ton.
