hmm, i just assumed her court scene just had him as a character witness in her fraud case. Guess that went over my head. your way sounds more realistic though.

It may have been, but I remember in the court scene flashback that they mentioned Morello putting an explosive device under the girlfriend's car or something. Also, when he came to visit her in prison to tell her "he knew it was her that broke into his house" he said something like "have you learned nothing during your time in prison". It just made me think she was in there for other reasons.
