i don't understand why everyone thinks the answer is anything but train them better.
if 99% of the horses that ran today broke down they would be put down instantly. There are probably 15 horses running today that if they broke down on the track they wouldn't put down instantly beucase the public outcry would be too much.
But if thisisformyninjas lol a 5k claimer that runs at Evangeline breaks down, bye bye buddy.
And that's humane thing to do in that situation.

That's another thing. I watch aussie racing 4-5 nights a week and i've seen 2 break downs in the last 2 years. 2. 2. total. And one of them didn't even die just came up lame.
how can they race more and break down less? much much less.
america is pretty much the only country with the horse break down problem. It's no where near this high everywhere else. why is that?
