Based off rankings it's Group D, but Group G and B both have a claim to it. Honestly I would say it's Group B. Poor Australia.
Edit: I just realized that the title wasn't "Group of Death", but a comparison between D and G. I would say G is the tougher group, but B is the best overall.

Group D/B are tougher from the standpoint of each having 3 great teams and one of them being left out of knockouts regardless.
That Costa Rica is a much tougher 4th team than Australia and that The Netherlands have some key injury concerns so far make me think Group D is even a bit tougher.
Group G is tough in the sense of the having strongest 4th best team by a decent margin.
