Maybe...but it gets much nastier. And the water temps are down around 50 degrees where I fish. Either way, I watch the weather for days before a planned trip. I'm kind of a chicken.

Haha, right! The pacific does get REAL rough. But it's usually a storm front coming in that's given days notice. The gulf will look fine one minute, then the next time you look up there's a storm bearing down and shite gets wild. I've gone out in glass and had to make the run back in with 6 to 8's. Granted, we were about 120 miles out, but we were in a boat made to run that far.
