LSU Athletics are in the business of making money and furthering the brand. They don't care about you and they owe Baton Rouge nothing. The sooner you accept this, the better.

bullshite. A state funded university (and thereby it's athletics department) absolutely owes their allegiance to their city and state. In April, LSU athletics posted a story about generating almost 4000 jobs and 400 million in sales for the local Baton Rouge economy through LSU athletics in 2012. I would imagine a large portion of that is coming from Football (let's conservatively say 60%) with 8 home games you're talking 30 million a home game of revenue just for the local economy. The state impact figures are almost as much. Taking away a single game is akin to remove 50 million dollars (again these are rough estimates) in revenue from the local and state economy.
