The fact that these immigrants are coming from a higher socio-economic class or a culture in which achievement is not only applauded, but expected, has a much greater significance to their success as to black Americans than race.

I know many that dont come from high socio-economic class. Many that came here as janitors, cab drivers, etc.
Their children are told to work hard and let the idiots on "da street, keep it real"

This effectively discounts skin color as a deciding factor in success.
I work for a very large company and have done interviews for years. Guess what? No one cares what color you are. We only care if you have the skills that we need.
