Ok... so wait, I am confused. You mean you can have "white privilege" if you aren't white but are a first generation immigrant regardless of color?
Someone needs to post a .PDF link to the white privilege handbook. My copy seems to be outdated.
Just kidding. I recently had a discussion with a number of people both black and white telling me about how privileged I am by being white. I told them I never had ANYTHING I didn't work very hard for.
Someone even posted a "study" done by someone that proved discrimination against those with "black" sounding names.
I am sure every successful person being referenced in this article has a black sounding name. My question is why isn't it holding them back?
I think the answer is that "white privilege" or any privilege looks a lot like hard work. If you work hard enough there aren't enough racists or assholes to block your path. You will be successful.
Life is hard for everyone...
