If anyone is expecting hardware announcements I think you are going to be disappointed. The past couple of years WWDC has focused on software. Seperate events have been called for the announcements of new iphones.

Hardware has made appearances at WWDC. Last year was the new Mac Pro.

One of the focal points of iOS 8, however, is likely to be Healthbook, an app that will be dependent on certain peripherals (such as the rumored iWatch...) for data collection.

I'm not sure Apple could introduce Healthbook without at least mentioning the iWatch. You would presumably want to get developers on board quite early as well.

Also, we've seen major hardware reveals at WWDC in the past. For example, just last year, Apple showed off the new Mac Pro.
