Here is one issue I have if businesses were allowed to pick and choose...
What if society chose to hate a very small minority of people.
Say, people over 6'9" tall.
Refusing to serve those people will not hurt their business at all. And a business owner who chooses to serve them will not get a bunch of extra business... so he doesn't have much to gain.
So now, people over 6'9" theoretically cannot get groceries, food, clothing, etc. if society decides they are the devil.
What if society chose to hate a very small minority of people.

Chances are a society like that would hurt the minority group MUCH more through the government of that society than through a free market.
