. For example, on my main home screen I have a todo widget and a time tracking widget. The todo widget allows me to very quickly glance at the list, add a task, check an item off, set alarms, etc.

This would be pretty cool I suppose, but I would prefer this kind if functionality in the notification center. Some of it already exists there (you can check off completed tasks/reminders without unlocking the scree). Plus, a widget is going to reduce the amount of home screen real estate I have more my most used apps.

I just don't see widgets as being that big a deal. Nice to have? I suppose, but it's not at the top of my list of things I want in iOS.

Basically how I feel. I think it'd be cool to have that functionality in some way, but it's not like I'm gonna switch away from all the other benefits just for that.

Yeah, I don't have a single app icon on any of my home screens, it's all widgets. I keep my often used apps in 4 categorized folders on my home row so they are always 2 taps away, and lesser-used apps are always in the app drawer.
