Thanks! Are those custom roms difficult to install? I'm gonna do all this Monday once my stretch at work is done.

Easy enough. Each ROM developer will have instructions on how to install their ROM. But installation is basically the same for every one.
You will install a custom recovery and flash the ROM using that. The custom recovery will also allow you to make backup images of your device. It will backup exactly how your device is setup when you create the backup. Be sure to always make a backup before flashing any ROM, kernel, baseband etc. If something goes wrong (or you don't like the ROM even) you can use the recovery to revert back to your good working backup.
