New Mexico also eliminated non resident public land cow elk hunts and non resident hunting on state wildlife areas.

Landowner tags for non residents for bulls and cows are not subject to a draw, but the price for bull tags can be high.

My guide has a landowner tag that he's offering for $3,000. It's on a 1X2 section ranch in the desert at the bottom of the moutnains. The ranch has an alfalfa field that draws the elk in around November/December. So, I'm basically getting a guided hunt for $3,750 including non-resident hunting license. Flat terrain, spot and stalk. He said there aren't any trophies, but has had good success with some upper 200 5X5s and a non-typical 7X7.
