Recommend a New Mexico Elk Hunting Outfitter

I've muzzle loader hunted for elk in New Mexico and had some success in the past, but the outfitter I used has gone out of business and the private ranch was sold. Does anyone have any recommendations?

I hunted the Gila NF 16A back in 2007. I wouldnt recommend the outfitter I used as the groups overall success was pretty poor. Would be curious to see who gets recommended.

I finally got in touch with my old outfitter, he now runs hunts out of Ruidoso out in the desert. Has anyone ever long-rifle hunted elk in flat, desert terrain?

I went on an archery hunt two years in a row at Fishtail Ranch in Chama. Lee and Valerie Weiss run a great operation there. They have a lot of nice elk taken every year. I have been wanting to go back for a rifle hunt but I haven't been able to make the time. They do book up early so you may want to call them and see what is available.
