I thought BRAC was putting the cart before the horse.
They need to hire principals that are qualified to run a school from A to Z first.
Btw, I find it ironic that Taylor says principals can't put together a budget but they can cut a specified percentage out if their budgets without his help.
But BRAC tried and that's more than Broome ,and her allies are doing.

I agree with a lot of what you said. The bill had a lot of good concepts at its core but it felt "rushed." I like Knapp's comments that they will focus on change through the local school board elections this Fall. Sort of a "well you wanted this handled locally, let's handle it locally by booting some of you sumabetchs out!" approach.
My only concern is that by failing by such a large margin, it allows the school bureaucracy (ie unions) to dig in deeper. Hindsight is 20/20 but might have been better to pull the bill with a message of "We will pull the bill, for now, to give EBRPSB a chance to reform itself; but if they don't, we will be back." That way the pressure stays up.
