Okay, watched about 6 or 7 episodes near the end of last week, and I had to make myself stop and not get into season two. I really liked how the end of season one took shape...really great IMO.

I forgot how much Broyles used to lie to Olivia. Seems like every other episode he was just holding something back from her or straight up lying to her face.

I remember the "werewolf/spiked creature on the plane" episode from when it originally aired, and I really liked that one.

I love how every time Olivia gets into the tank, they talk about how dangerous it is, and how much more dangerous it is getting.....yet they keep putting her back in there over and over.

I had forgotten about ZFT/technology manuscript. But now that I'm seeing it, I remember it and how it starts setting up the jumping back and forth between universes. Also had forgotten about Walter's typewriter and how he (or Bell) were the ones who had written it, and Bell is funding it.

Also getting MUCH more into Liv and the cortexiphan and all of that.

I like the rewatch because I'm catching a lot of comments here and there that seem innocuous but have bigger meanings, especially about the alternate universes. Comments like Peter giving the little bald kid his old GI Joe and saying "But I swear I remember the scar being on the other side of his face.." Wheelchair dude (whose wife was the vampire thing) asking Walter how far he'd go for someone he loves. Walter referencing his "filing system" and Astrid talking about how he likes to hide things all over the country and inside his walls. All of these things are gonna come up BIG in later seasons, especially season five. It's cool catching those kinds of comments this time around when I missed them the first time.

Great end to a solid first season.

So where do we go from here? Do I just assign the start of season two for this week? I know originally some people wanted to maybe take a week off in between seasons to discuss, but the discussion seems to not continue strongly without episodes to watch...

Also, how does this set up for season two? I remember several overall plot arches with the show, but not exactly where they fall season-wise. I assume season two gets into the whole dual universe thing, and how each universe is causing the other to collapse. And obviously the big reveal that this Peter is actually alternate Peter.

You touched on a lot of good points. It's very cool to see the subtle references to the other side, with knowing what we know now. There's also Peter's coin from "another place" that September pointed out. Peter swearing the GI Joe figure's scar was on the other side is sort of odd, since he really doesn't claim to remember much from those years. I kinda wish he'd make more statements like that, from time to time.

I've already started the next season myself, but I'm not very far along. To all of those that might care, a major character from Continuum makes an appearance pretty early on in Season 2. I didn't realize that until now

The reason I like Broyles so much is you get the feeling he is protecting Olivia more than straight out obfuscating. I had enough of that nonsense with Skinner in X-Files.

I was beginning to get that uneasy feeling of X-Files repetition when out of the blue they killed off that Asshat Harris which was a huge turning point for me with the show.

The tank was used too much. Hell, the damn thing never even sent Olivia to the hospital. Given the dire warnings, there should have been some consequences of the 47 uses of the tank, even it all they did was show her spend the night in the hospital for evaluation.

The tank was just an excuse to get some T&A action from Olivia.
