Not at all. We are spending very little to prolong a conflict while our adversaries in Russia and Iran are investing quite a bit of political capital and funds. No matter who 'wins' the civil war, the US does not come out ahead. We are taking the only course which benefits us, despite how tragic it is for the Syrian people.
