The metal roof is the way to go. I use it all the time when filing my feeders, trimming limbs, building stands etc. You can easily have three large grown men on it with no trouble.
The windshield is a cheap one that I found somewhere online. I will eventually upgrade to the fortress sliding windshield, but this was cheap and easy. it does the trick.
