Sharebuilder.com has a pretty cheap commission structure for automated purchases, and will re-invest all dividends for no charge at all.

What you ask about is exactly what I do with my Roth - a moderate chunk of money gets distributed among about 6 or 8 purchases on autopilot on the first Tuesday of the month for $12 in commissions (total), and all the dividends go back into their respective stocks automatically with no extra charge.

I have accounts with them as well. I also enjoy that they pretty simply divorce automatic deposits and automatic investing, so you can avoid getting eaten alive by commissions. That and the $3.95 trade commissions make me happy.

That Robin Hood brokerage might be more what you're looking for if you can get into it, though.
