i almost believe you actually think football is the only sport in the conference.

In terms of viewership millions more watch SEC football vs mens BBall or other televised events.

Sure, there are fanatics that watch every event, but ratings don't lie.

good point. if only anyone refuted it. but to this dumb comment:

Why are people so excited that the SEC will take games that would already be televised and put them on the SEC network?

I'll state again its almost like you think football is the only sport.

Probably the people who would be signing up for SECN, no?

ETA: It's not exciting because we finally get to watch the quarterfinals of the womens tennis tourney. It's exciting because we will have SEC sports YEAR ROUND. If you like the SEC, at all, it seems like having 14 saturdays a year to enjoy by only watching football (which it seems like you are in that position) would pale in comparison to having game replays, talk shows, lookaheads, etc. 12 months of the year. In addition to getting lots more televised basketball and baseball games.

right.

which is why ESPN thinks its worth creating an entire network to specifically air SEC sports all year long.

That isn't quite how they are using it. They are loading the SEC network to force the average viewer to buy it to see the exact same amount of football games.

Wrong. Every team currently has one PPV game a year that is not always accessible nationwide. The SEC Network syndication package is also not available to a large portion of the US.

and BTW, the cost of the network to you?

its going to cost you less for a full year of SECN than it would to order a single PPV football game.
