As stated the south end of the lake by twin dykes is wide open. If you are looking for a party Rattle snake island will be the place. But it is a big arse lake so you can also avoid all of that as well. If you are going to be staying in Rayburn Country, bring your golf clubs, if you play, the course is in great shape. One of the most beautiful lakes in the south. Be looking for the bald eagles and black squirrels.
The bass have been shallow and weightless flukes have been producing nice fish.
