XBone problems

Something went wrong and I'm thinking about doing a factory restore unless I can avoid it. Is there anyway to force the xbox to download the last update again? I've got no optical sound. In settings it's turned off. If I try to turn it back on I get a spinning circle and that's it. I also keep getting a Kinect is not plugged in error then it goes away.
If I put a disc in and try to start a game the first screen of the game pops up and freezes. All three titles I have a disc for.
If I do a factory restore, is there anyway to back up game saves? Only title I have that I would worry about is AC:BF, I think ghosts and TF accomplishments are tied to the gamer tag.
I'm kind of pissed I'm having this problem with a relatively new console. My 360 is still going strong after 6 years without a single problem.

Have you done a hard shut down ? (Hold the power button until it shuts off, then restart)

Yeah, a few times. I'm going to try to unplug it for a minute or two. Read somewhere that helps

You should be fine. The big thing with the Xbox One is your games sync with the cloud, so when you reset they should still be there. You will have to redownload your games, which is a pain in the arse but your game saves should still be there.
NBA2K14 was going through a bunch of server issues, so I did a factory reset on my console to set up a game save that didn't go directly to the cloud. My game saves were fine for Forza and Dead Rising.
You have to remember you are an early adopter to new hardware, which can usually lead to issues. Thankfully Xbox support can be very helpful and they will walk you through it if we can't help.

hmmm, I am getting the Kinect is unplugged issue too just out of the blue day before yesterday. I havent tried a factory reset but tried hard reset and unplugged/plugged in everything. Was going to call support for a new one tomorrow.

Mine started working after I unplugged it for a while (30 minutes or so) but I still have no sound. I have sound through my TB wireless headphones but nothing comes out of the TV's speakers.
