Yes because it seems as the Hispanic population grows, the emphasis on learning English diminishes. I'm from the Houston area and when I went to Europe (Germany and the Netherlands) I was surprised that their English was so much better than many Mexicans in Houston.
I really don't care in terms of communication but the lack of focus on even attempting to become proficient in English is troubling because it shows where their loyalty/identity lies.
Too many legal immigrants see themselves as Mexicans living in America rather than Mexican Americans.
