I think his attitude also helped.
I was pulled over once at night for speeding. I then made sure to put on the lights inside the car so the cop could see inside. He let me off specifically due to my attitude and concern for his safety.

His CCL helped him again. His attitude didn't hurt either.

that never works for me. it always seems that cops let the crazy ones go to avoid something dramatic and write tickets to the easy ones.

Said they were vice. Probably looking for probable cause for drugs. Pretty obvious the guy was not a target of theirs.

yeah it was his attitude more than the wallet, but the cop seemed cool

Hey everyone, i'm the original video uploader, and i'll clear some things up:
I stopped at the red, looked both ways, and treated it like a stop sign. Pretty common around here when there's no traffic. Although I probably should have noticed the cop :P
Ohio CCW laws require you to disclose immediately if you're carrying your weapon.
I'm an occasional amateur radio operator and was cruising around after a large storm giving reports. The hazard we were talking about was a large amount of water on the road.
I'm driving an 02 Explorer with police scanner and HAM transceiver in my console. In the video you can see me lock in on the officer's channel and listen to him calling in my plates.
"Later on" is the same as "later" to me. Like "see you later on".

His attitude, not chipping his teeth, and letting the officer know about the weapon ahead of time is why he got off

The last 4 or 5 times I have been pulled over the cops have let me go without a ticket because I do the same shite he did. Just be 100% honest with them and treat them like normal people and they will let you go during a traffic stop. Also, I always have new clean cars and when they look me up and see I am 36 with no arrests and no tickets in over 10 years it makes things a little easier.

must be me, but I don't see anything remarkable here, except that vice cops are in uniform, lots of variables(end of the month quota time, money grab "illegal egress/turn, for ex.,) I think, that no matter what, the cop knows 9/10 whether he's gonna be writing a ticket before he gets out of his car

I usually say "hey officer, in a hurry? Chasin somebody? Somebody chasin ya"
And they say, "Ain't nobody chasin me baw, ya got dom right I'm in a hurry baw!"

Yeah, this combo has generally worked well for me as well. Of course we are both in Phoenix metro as well, not a ton of speed traps and cops generally don't pull you over unless you are crazy speeding.
Generally have to worry more about the photo enforcement stuff.
