Take everything into consideration...vacation time...401k match...sick time. Additional benefits like free company life insurance...bonus and of course salary. Typically there is a 20% range for each job band and they don't ever start there. You need to understand your situation and theirs. If they love you and have no other options you can slow play them while waiting on a pending offer from another firm...If you are unemployed I wouldn't play with fire
