re: How does one go about negotiating salary?

There are website that compare salary by position and city. If you feel you can get more just ask. You gotta be a great candidate to get it though. For my current job I had to put on my application what my desired salary would be so I added 30% and then rounded up. They offered another $10 on top of that. Made me feel desired. If they had low balled me I doubt I would have accepted because that reflects on future salary issues.
