I'm tired of running and surrendering ground. I guess that makes me one. I'd like to have a city that begins thinking like one too. Maybe one day we can begin thinking like a city, after the last ditch boomer mentality dies off.

You can start by improving the schools and maybe give st. George their own independent school district and you'll have the fundamental building block to build with.

People aren't going to come live in BR if the schools are utter shite. They won't give a damn how nice the rest of BR or downtown looks or or what good restaurants, malls, or complexes it has.

Like the guy who leaves his house abandoned to travel and upon returning some years later, he's real surprised to see insects, rodents, and birds have taken up residence there, thinking he obviously didn't want it anymore, and now the termites have gotten to the woodwork, and as he surveys his old home he says goodbye to it because it isn't as pretty as she used to be.

And that's what the Boomer legacy is. Disposable debt driven society.. It's just a damn shame their city isn't too big to fail.

That is what I do not understand about this.

Are those in opposition of St. George against it because of tax dollars? Especially with the schools?

It is almost criminal that many people within Baton Rouge have to send their kids to private schools that are expensive as well as pay taxes to fund public schools that are shitty.
