Is this a good show? I've watched bits a pieces and it seemed dumb to me

My wife likes it so it's in the DVR rotation. If that weren't the case I wouldn't go out of my way to watch it, but I might check it out if I channel surfed into it.

It's last year on the original network (ABC?) they were doing lots of gimmicky things like trying to force new catch phrases and singing/exaggerated delivery of said catch phrases and it got pretty close to unwatchable. It's gotten better since they moved to TBS. The show in a nutshell is Middle Aged Friends. Most of the characters are intentionally quirky but I'd say only 4 work regularly.

Courtney Cox likes to drink wine and is overly involved in her loser son's life.
Christa Miller (the chick from drew carey show) plays a very good snarky bitch that hates everyone. Probably the most entertaining character on the show.
Chunky Blonde chick is stereotypical trailer trash which they use well
CC's ex Bobby plays the dumb but happy role pretty well.

Unfunny with a 90 year old Courtney Cox refusing to believe she's no longer the cute girl dancing with Springsteen.
