Good shoot.

The dog was secure in the owners yard.

The cops decided to enter the yard.

I am not a big animal lover, but this is more about property rights. The cop destroyed their dog because he decided he wanted to be where the dog was.

Too bad the cop did not trip and fall and land on .....

So if fleeing suspects entered your property/home, what would you want the cops chasing them to do? Wait, try to call you and see if it's ok to come in your house where the suspect is?

This all sounds like a possibly unavoidable accident, just bad luck. Can't know for sure, we weren't there, but it's hard to blame the officer for being where he was, and if the dog was legimitately attacking him to a point that he couldn't defend himself, i'm not sure you can blame the cop here.
