He averaged 15.4 PPG and shot 43% from the field... that's not what you expect from a max contract guy.

You want superstar or great stats from a max contract player.

That's why most are upset(and stuff like the OP)

We legitimately thought he'd come in and average 20 PPG efficiently(as his career stats indicated)

Injuries/Other shite screwed that up

it is what it is

At this point, I'd settle for getting a 2nd rounder or two from Philadelphia if they'd have him. Honestly though, if I were Demps, I'd ship his arse to the Bucks for peanuts if I could.

He was one of our most consistently healthy players this year

A healthy year for him, he still missed 18 games.

and had a solid year.

Lowest PPG in his career.

Anderson and Holiday missed more. They must have sandy vaginas, right? Tyreke had a "nagging" ankle injuries. I guess he doesn't want to be a Pelican. AD missed the end of the season. You can't have a superstar missing games. frick it, I hate every Pelican, move the team to Seattle. Only when I don't have my own team to hate can I be happy.

He also had the least-defined role in his career. I'm sure his usage was much lower. He can't score the ball when Roberts and Evans don't look to kick it out.

c'mon this is ridiculous. none of those you listed have been as injury prone and has as negative an attitude as Sandy V

Tyreke has missed at least 10 games in all 5 seasons he's been in the league, averaging 66 games a year.

AD has now missed 15 games in both seasons.

Ryno has averaged 60 games/year. In Orlando, he averaged right around this and I have no idea if it was injury related or not.

Jrue has been pretty durable but has now missed 10+ games in 3 of his 5 seasons, though this year is the first he's missed real significant time.

You are correct that they haven't been AS injury prone but you guys are so caught up in his personality, it makes it hard to have a discussion about him. I'm not disagreeing he's overpaid or he has become pretty average but I don't think he should be shite on for being a shy dude. He's 25, probably still coming into his own. We don't know what he's like in the locker room. It's just getting old calling him a vagina. If he was better, people wouldn't give a damn how he acted. I guess that's the problem, though.

and EG has averaged 38 games per season in NOLA with knee injuries. his problem is chronic most of the other injuries you referring to are one time deals.

absolutely not I can have an honest discussion about him and still despise him.

good because you would be loco if you did

you don't get a pass on being a douchebag just because you are shy.

not yet

No doubt. The cult of hatred that demonstrates itself so willingly on this board makes it hard to even read a lot of the time. People convinced themselves that he was just being a malcontent when he was injured, but now they hate him for being "chronically injured." Which is it?

I find myself pulling for him just because of the unwarranted amount of hate that the bros have for him. New Orleans fans at their finest.

so you are saying we are pulling for him to fail? that couldn't be further from the truth. the fact of the matter is he is clearly a hindrance to this team considering his salary and the logjam at guard resulting in him being expendable, he needs to go. if you think he is worth the salary he is getting being our 3rd best guard you are the one who has a problem

If I may speak for myself:

I was really excited for EG to come here. At the time he was a young star SG on the rise and it also culminated with CP3 being gone as well(I wanted that shite to be over)

He missed games that season but we going nowhere anyway so I thought "oh well"

Him refusing the 4 years/50 mil extension during the season irked me but I understood it from a buisness standpoint.

The FA/"out Indefinitely" periods put a sour taste in my mouth and put a damper on what looked to be an exciting season.

He came back and played well and I really wasn't that aggravated with him fwiw. I honestly think the anger is from the "my heart in phoenix" crap" which some took personally(I really didn't)

He stayed reasonably healthy this year but was just meh in all regards and it's just apparent he's never going to be worth his contract.

These recent comments are irratating because it shows he has little commitment to doing whatever to help the team(and possibly himself).

I didn't say that at all. I said that posters here have an unwarranted hate of him. Sorry if I don't hate a guy for being injured.

I don't think he's as big a hindrance as some think he is. He's absolutely overpaid, but that doesn't mean I'm going to eat 15 kinds of shite to get rid of him. If Demps finds a decent deal to move him, I'll judge the deal then. Until then, he's a Pelican and I'll support him.

I'm 100% happy in my life and as a Pelicans fan, whether he is on the team or not. Sure, his contract is an issue, but it is what it is. I'm not going to spend my day cursing him, insulting him, and whining about something I cannot change.

With regards to being meh, the roster that was built here did nothing but marginalize his talents. That's on Demps, in my opinion.

Well, Evans said he was okay with being 6th man, but clearly wasn't. I guess honesty is no good in this situation.

I just think a significant portion of this board has a habit of taking the worst case scenario as gospel when it comes to Gordon. Seriously, he's suddenly in the wrong for wanting to live up to his contract.

Because I'm not miserable? Makes sense. We definitely need to keep Ryan Anderson around. We may not have a fanbase in a few years if he leaves with his suicide hotline.
