One woman analyst said that Sam's resume dictated that he should have been picked in the first or second round. Inferring discrimination in his going in the 7th.

Well, to the masses who know nothing about the combine and measurables, the 7th round selection does seem ridiculous for the reigning SEC Defensive Player of the Year. (I think I saw somewhere the last 5 or so didn't make it past the 17th pick in the draft)

You have to admit that.

ETA: To the draftniks among us, he definitely graded out to 5th round to undrafted, meaning he fell right in that range.

The NFL typically doesn't think highly of undersized defensive ends who are slow, but his production this year warranted him as a potential draft pick.

No, I don't.
1. He was not Def Player of the Year. He was "Co-Def player of the year in the SEC".
2. He only played 60% of Missouri's Def. downs because he can't run tackle. He's a pass rusher.
3. He is by every measurable too small to play DE in the NFL.
4. He is too slow to be converted to outside LB (like Barkevious Mingo).

Just like all those Heisman winners who consistently succeed in the NFL.
