Sam claims he wants to be known as a football player and I believe America is ready to grant him that, but, last night's display when he got drafted says otherwise. It was only about his homosexuality. So, whether he's complicit in it or just the unintended victim of his allies' enthusiasm, I suspect he will merely be known as a homosexual and, sadly, nothing else.

No more so than the media itself. What was he, seventh to the last pick made? His pick was announced at the podium which is a rare event for a last round draft choice.
I'd say there was definitely an agenda there to glorify the moment that he received special treatment because of his sexual orientation.
The fact that he's gay - fine. The fact that he got extra exposure for his pick because of it - not so fine.
