i apologize if i am misunderstanding your reply.

I am not referring to coverage or insurance.

I am saying that if the average american can not afford to pay out of pocket for what the average american requires/receives in health care benefits then the whole system is bound to fail one way or the other.

Affordable to me would be 15-20% of the income of the "average american".

Most reasonable minded Americans would agree that around 15 - 20% of their income to be spent on healthcare (depending on size of family). But as long as we have an extreme right wing in this country that believes healthcare to be a privilege, then we might as well believe that affordable is $0 for the average American.
