re: Professor bans graduates from thanking God...University tells professor to f off

Professors who usurp the rights, moments, etc. of students are a huge pet peeve of mine.

I've experienced it first hand and it is quite common. I'd love to see a graduating class president or someone similar issue a statement in one of these situations basically saying that this is our commencement, not yours, so please keep your political leanings to yourself and stop trying to interfere with our speaker/speaking planning.

It's extremely narcissistic.
