Teddy, I wish I could answer that. You could also ask our utility out here, HECO, why have they fought PV tooth and nail instead of building storage facilities and more solar farms. They could be making money at the same time reducing families electric bills from .37-.46 cents a kWh to maybe less than half that. We could stop importing millions of barrels of oil for our energy. All good things for the environment and people's wallets.

Nobody would confuse me with a tree hugger. You're trying to bring this into me saying oil just sucks point blank when I never said the sort. But when there are ways to get away from oil for every single thing, then we should be going for it. If you don't think the free sun is better than other means to power homes, then you don't care about renewable. Wind, thermal, hydro, etc. There are lots of ways to rely less on oil.
