GOP congress and DEM president
I'd prefer that to a DEM congress and GOP pres, if those were the only two choices.
IF the GOP congress would grow some gonads and stop kow-towing to liberal fantasies.
and this is supposing that a GOP pres would continue to be accommodating to DEMs.

According to a USA Today Pew poll I read yesterday in Business Insider. The poll stated that the democrats are not only in trouble for 2014, but also are trending bad for 2016.
The republicans are in a position to do better than they did in “ Wave ” elections in 2010 and 1994. The drag on democrats is the economy, Obama and Obamacare.
By more than a 2 to 1 margin, the poll says that America wants a president with DIFFERENT POLICIES than president Obama, when GWB was in his last 2 years the very same Pew poll had America wanting a president with different policies by a wider than 2 to 1 margin also, and we know what happened in 2008.
Also, the truth is that it is very rare to have a “ 3 peat ” as president from one party, the lone exception in the last 60 years is Reagan - Bush, other than that the nation rarely stays with one party over 8 years.
Ike, JFK, Nixon, Carter, Reagan, Bush, Clinton, GWB and Obama.
So, the real trend is for the nation to shift to another party after 8 years.

Yeah, I think the GOP is moving toward being more of a regional party.
Having a D pres and R house and senate: I could live with that.

The way things have gone since about 2002...I kind of welcome the gridlock.
