I suck at mechanic work, I'm always stripping something, but I've been told that changing your rotors and pads are pretty simple.

What am I looking for in rotors and pads? I want something with good braking performance. Are there certain brands or types of rotors and pads I should be looking for? Or is it all the same shite?

TIA

The factory made that decision for you already.

Changing pads is pretty easy. Rotors are a different animal, especially if they're pressed on.

You need to bring them to a shop and have them turned. They usually turn them while still on the car.

I was just quoted $230ish to get an inspection and change pads and turn rotors on my truck. Given the time I'd have to spend doing it myself and the price id pay for 8 pads and 4 rotors...decision was a no brainer. Gonna let the dealership handle it while I get some work done lol.
