Last minute AS Roma mercato stirrings:
1. Seems Roma is close to signing Greek LB Jose Holebas from Olympiacos.
Ashley Cole has been surprisingly poor so far and his inability to so far convince Rudi Garcia has likely necessitated signing another LB since Balzaretti is still not fully recovered.
2. Young French MF Adrien Rabiot from PSG is rumored to be close to signing though Arsenal are still pressing. The midfield is pretty stacked but Rabiot is a very exciting prospect and this potential move would add even more depth until Strootman returns and also be a natural replacement if Strootman ends up being sold next summer.
3. Like everyone else, Roma is still looking to add depth at striker. I was actually hoping Torres would join on (not in exchange for crazy Destro swap the English press imagined though). I understand him choosing Milan instead of being 3rd choice at Roma. Nilmar may be an idea since he's been linked with Roma for seemingly the last decade.

Roma should sign Teemu Pukki. Finnish international, scored against Spain, scored in the Champion's League, and you can get him cheaply.

I've seen him play some really good matches for Celtic and Shalke in the past and love his name. Is Celtic trying to sell him?
I imagine it would have to be pretty cheap as I;m surprised by how much Roma has already spent this summer. The owner promised an increased budget if we made CL but no one was really expecting it to be over €60m in the red.
