I have no idea who Sloth is but the name alone doesn't make one dream large.

a leeds fan got ahold of his wiki and dubbed him "a very highly rated danish midfielder"

He probably didn't realize that just because Bayern is a huge club doesn't mean they'll spend irrationally. He'll have to swallow his pride at this point.
I've also read that Bayern will get him a little cheaper because Roma has to sell to keep up with FFP.

Nah, just baseless journalist conjecture.
There's no possible way he would have been sold if not for his bust up with management over wages. Even after all that Roma still tried to make amends to keep him as late as last week and why his sale isn't happening until the deadline.
Roma's not rich but the finances are more than fine in terms of FFP. They're also spending almost all the money from Benatia on Manolas + either Basa or Chiriches and probably the Colombian winger from River Plate Carbonero.
I think Bayern's getting a pretty good price (seems around €32m with the bonuses is the latest) but it's more due all the real competition ( City, PSG and Barca) going other directions and ManU I suppose realizing he's not a winger.

Yeah, Bayern certainly allows him to go to an elite, prestigious club but yeah I think he thought everyone was going to offer a Man City/PSG size contracts when he went on that rampage to the media this summer.
Nonetheless, he should be a very good player for Bayern and Roma won't be as strong early in league and CL group play while breaking in Manolas, Astori etc. . . not to mention Castan, who's really been the rock in the center of defense that allowed Benatia/Marquinhos to gallivant around making youtube tackles, is out for a few weeks with a hamstring problem. . .

We're hearing the initial fee Manchester United will pay Real Madrid for Argentina winger Angel di Maria is around £59.6million - comfortably breaking the £50million British record fee which Chelsea paid to Liverpool for Fernando Torres in January 2011. Guillem Balague explains...

The Independent reports Manchester United will step up their pursuit of £34million-rated Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal after securing the signing of Angel di Maria. However, fears over the knee injury which the Chile international is carrying means the deal may have to be structured, and therefore much harder to negotiate.

Everton are close to completing a deal for Samuel Eto’o, according to Sky sources.
The 33-year-old Cameroon international has been linked with a number of Premier League sides this summer, but Everton are expected to secure the striker on a two-year contract after he undergoes a medical today.

It's a good deal for Bayern (or maybe just an average non-English/Madrid deal where a fair amount simply changes hands.)
Seems the deal was announced immediately after Roma's new CB signing Kostas Manolas arrived in Rome. Maybe that's been the only delay the past few days.
I like Manolas to eventually replace Benatia though he'll need time to adjust and I suppose Astori is pretty solid in the meantime. I hope we go after Balanta for a 4th CB.

Bayern just announced it on Twitter. Although the deal was done as soon as Sky reported that he was in Manchester for a medical.

Which is utterly useless thanks to the salary cap.

Good point.
It was also the same weekend Kostas Manolas was "having a medical visit for Arsenal" and Roma was "trading Destro for Torres".
I usually only follow Roma closely enough to notice but I hope the UK press like SKY etc are not as wrong about every transfer as they always are about anything involving Roma.
