Which is going to disappear without net neutrality.

But you know that Jake.

You just like to keep stirring the pot because you love a good debate. That has been your MO your entire posting history.

again. we're talking about torrentors, aka, thieves

agian, i question how much you really know about this debate and both sides. I'm not insulting you i am generally curious as the depth of your knowledge on this issue.

was my statement wrong? no it was not wrong

i just do not agree that the alternative of NN is automatically a dystopian future b/c of...guessing

discriminatory treatment of traffic will immediately raise the barriers to entry in the internet world and have a negative effect on innovation.

and you don't understand innovation, b/c barriers are exactly why innovation occurs

i feel you don't understand how innovation works or comes about. it's not when things are easy and abundance exists

i think your problem is that you believe that since this is how things have been done, this is how things should always be done

My argument is not one i made up today. and it is more complex than that.

which is very ironic in a thread about innovation. that set of beliefs is the opposite of innovation

As i already stated, killing net neutrality is far from the only way to improve internet speeds and spur new innovations.

Looking at the issue purely as a consumer, and not taking into account the implication to businesses invested in Cloud tech and other Wed driven business ops just process how short sighted this discussion is.

how do you know this for sure?

i can proclaim that losing NN will be the best thing ever and internet will get faster and cheaper

i have the same amount as evidence for that statement as you do for your statement, but i am not acting like i can predict the future or can analyze things without evidence.

no. i just get into big debates about issues that people are acting like sheep when discussing, and it makes people energized b/c they don't like to think outside of the box and would rather use emotional or irrational/impossible arguments

what if it's better for personal and small business users of cloud-based apps/storage? what then?

can you guarantee that it will be worse for them? no

can i guarantee that it will be better for them? no

let's see what happens and have a discussion about this using evidence and not temper tantrums or speculation

where did i say that?

removing NN may be terrible. it may be awesome. we don't know. intellectually dishonest arguments do nothing to help the discussion

you think someone will create a new internet system which rivals cable companies? You cant create a way to deliver things faster through a cable line. The cable company controls that and the end of net neutrality allows the cable companies to effectively pick and choose which content providers survive and which dont.

That's 40 megabits per second, which is well above the average download speed in this country.

I can 100% tell you that if there is a dollar to be made on offering content, which is the crux of the debate, it will be.

At the end of the day, apps, data, music, etc are just 1 & 0s. By selectively choosing to devote processing power to certain "vendors" of content will irrefutably harm the marketplace.

There will be no winners, except the ISPs.

This argument is just stupid. It can be used to justify the passing of literally any law about anything for any reason and avoid any negative debate about it.

C'mon dude.

I have seen you post pictures of a LLOTOT and refuse her request to take them down for hours while you debated with people whether or not the pictures were public domain and/or she had any expectation of privacy once said pictures were on the web.

So don't try to feed us any shite other than you just get off on these debates.

He's a divorce attorney. All he does is get people annoyed. He's so used to profiting off of suffering and anger that making other people suffer or get angry in anyway brings him pleasure.

Aint that right SFP.
