It is a big deal. Just because he's done other things in the past many would deem worse than this that went unpunished doesn't mean this isn't a big deal.

it's been manufactured into a big deal. a guy with racist tendencies saying something about his half-black gf being seen out with black people (while she could still frick them, per him, mind you)...not a big deal
and the outrage is basically hypocrisy from NBA fans, players, coaches, analysts, etc, b/c they already knew about this
if they couldn't get out and make a big deal out of this during the past decade, they've waived their butthurt, imho
