Pretty sure the TV show is part of the Marvel cinematic universe.
And its pretty common in comic books for stuff like this to happen, so it shouldn't be surprising that it happens often in movies based on comic books.

Yeah. For the longest time the saying was the only three characters who stay dead are Bucky, Jason Todd and Uncle Ben. And the first two of them have now been brought back.

It definitely is. I watch the show with my son. I'm glad I went to see Captain America 2 in theaters because the show after the movie came out was chocked full of spoilers from the movie.
