I'd look back over your work. If it worked fine last year and then you worked on it before you used it this year; you may have messed something up or installed a bad part

Did you remove the prop? check the shaft? - it is either restricted or loading up.
Is the temp running hot? or the same as normal
old gas? what kind of gas are you using?
