Sure you can. Anyone can say whatever they want.
He won't be arrested for it. It isn't illegal.
But saying what you want and having no consequences for what you say are not the same thing.

Do you know this for a fact? I had heard that there was some doubt as to whether the NBA had the authority to do this. I would possibly expect a lawsuit. And, no matter what, it is a sad day when there are repercussions for saying things in the privacy of your own home.
I hate the pernicious effects of thought crimes. But, unfortunately, that's the world we live in these days.
