I combined that statement with a youtube video I saw where a guy was putting on a new DD rail system. when i saw the video, the gas tube had what looked like a bend in it that almost seemed done by him. I would have expected it to look straight, in other words.
However, I just watched a portion of another YT video and learned the "why not" to use a low profile gas block. so now, I think i'm getting close to understanding it a bit better!
