My dad got a cheaper one and it's held up fine for the last 5 years or so. No issues. I believe it's a big dog. Or big dawg.

That's the thing. You either hear about them lasting 10 years OR 10 months.

It's a crapshoot with the box store brands.

Big Dogs aren't cheaply made mowers. They have welded decks.
