I think she may have been in some sort of accident, but even then I don't think it was an emergency. I really don't this person really that well, and it's taken every responsible bone in my body to not just call bullshite on her post.

Excruciating pain all the time and forever vs. bankruptcy.
If the injury were debilitating and the surgery was promising - I'd take bankruptcy.
